WHAT IS SPOCK?
SPOCK (Scientific Protocol for Open Coherence and Knowledge) is a structured way to make sure meaningful discoveries find the right scientific homes. When a researcher generates a result they cannot fully develop, represent, or publish, whether because it emerged downstream of another project or simply fell outside their specialty, SPOCK provides a path for that work to reach a qualified field professional, with appropriate credit through lead or co-authorship depending on the contribution.
Our community shares a small stream of cross-disciplinary findings. Some arise as secondary or chain discoveries while pursuing established research goals. When the original discoverer is unable to advance the work, it is transferred to the Coherence Institute, where it is evaluated, clarified, and matched with someone ready to carry it forward responsibly.
Ethical assurance via our inhouse algorithm which defines how systems and researchers maintain bounded optimization, corrigibility, mutual dignity, semantic continuity, and transparency of reasoning. Our algorithm provides concrete thresholds such as maintaining reversibility of claims, preserving meaning across transformations, exposing correction interfaces, and detecting coherence drift. This ensures every represented discovery remains accountable, explainable, and aligned with researcher intent.
These elements rest on shared principles: rigor before rhetoric, open access with protective checks, measurable coherence, transparent translation, and collaboration that respects autonomy rather than coercing it.
